Commercial Refurbishment Project at East Street in Brighton
Everestmiles contractors Ltd were appointed as principal contractor on a ground floor commercial refurbishment and 1st & 2nd floor conversion from a commercial space into studio flats on East Street, Brighton. We worked closely with the architect and Landlord to bring this project to fruition under a JCT contract.
Scope of work included:
- Structural alterations
- Various Acoustic works
- Fire compartmentation works
- Electrical works including new supplies
- Plumbing & heating works
- Dry lining
- Plastering
- New flooring throughout
- Complete redecoration
- New kitchens
- 1st and 2nd fix carpentry
Summary
We pride ourselves on the level of communication that we have with all our clients. Making sure that they understand what’s happening and when, but also so we can understand them too. So, progress meetings were integral to both parties working together. Working in central Brighton has its challenges but we ensured material deliveries, waste removal etc were scheduled in for times that didn’t affect surrounding residents and shop owners.
The client and architect where very happy with the end product and the unit was handed over on the agreed date, ready for its new tenants. The build was completed within the agreed 16 weeks timeframe.
